The Office of Veterans Affairs (OVA) at the Military Records Department was established in 2019, headed by a Staff Officer. In 2020, the Force establishment was revised and as such, the OVA was renamed the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and is now headed by a Director. On 1 January 2021, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Rocky MEADE appointed Major Heleda THOMPSON as Director DVA.
The Defence Board has the ultimate authority to make a determination. This is based on the circumstances under which you have retired. Any pay, pension or other grant awarded is liable to deductions on the order of the Defence Board to meet any public or service claim.
INELIGIBILITY - If you are discharged on the grounds of MISCONDUCT
Eighteen (18) years and over for a pension / Twelve(12) years and less than 18 years reckonable service. Reckonable service is service after the age of eighteen years in the regular force.
NB: the following periods are excluded from reckonable service: Imprisonment Desertion Absence without leave exceeding twenty-eight days Any period ordered by a court-martial to be forfeited.

In 2002, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security Launched the Labour Market Information System (LMIS). There is a component of the LMIS called the Electronic Labour Market Exchange (ELE). This is an internet-based employment system which facilitates the efficient matching of jobseekers with employers.
